Our first spotlight shines on Howard Damen, fondly known as “Damen” among his colleagues, who works out of our North Alabama / Tennessee Valley Region Office located in Huntsville. Damen’s role as an Assistant Project Manager is marked by his unwavering dedication, positive attitude, and genteel presence that brings a sense of peace and happiness to all who interact with him.
Outside of his professional commitments, Damen’s commitment to community service is truly inspiring. For the past eight years, Damen has given his time and carpentry skills to Enable Madison County, partnering with The Warrant Officers Association of Redstone Arsenal. His work primarily involves building wheelchair access ramps and aiding in winterizations for houses, providing an invaluable service to Veterans and other residents of Madison County. Enable Madison County‘s mission aligns perfectly with Damen’s personal commitment to enabling individuals to live independently, safely, and with dignity.
Damen’s passion extends to his personal life as well. He’s an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing, and a motorcycling enthusiast, often spending time building and riding motorcycles. He also enjoys surfing and visiting with friends. Damen’s life in Huntsville spans 18 years, and his extensive experience in construction at Redstone Arsenal over the last 15 years adds great value to our team at The Highland Group.
His impressive career history includes roles as a carpenter, superintendent, and project manager, with significant contributions to projects for the Missile Defense Agency, multiple FBI buildings, Raytheon Missile, and NASA.
Damen’s dedication to his professional role, commitment to community service, and his personal passions truly embody The Highland Group’s values. We’re proud to have Damen as part of our family.
